Benjamin David “Benny” Goodman (May 30, 1909 – June 13, 1986) was an American jazz musician, clarinetist and bandleader, known as “King of Swing”, “Patriarch of the Clarinet”, “The Professor”, and “Swing’s Senior Statesman”.
