Bill Welsh (b. April 25, 1911 in Greeley, Colorado - d. February 27, 2000 in Thousand Oaks, California was a television announcer and pioneer. Welsh began his career in California on KTLA and KTTV, where, for many years, he worked as director of sports and special events. It is said, that in 1946 at the time of his first broadcast (a hockey match at the Pan-Pacific Auditorium) there were fewer than 300 TV sets in Southern California. Among the events he broadcast were 49 New Year's Day Rose Parades and the first telecast of a Rose Bowl game.

He served as President of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce from 1980 to 1990. He and Johnny Grant lead the efforts to redevelop the rundown Hollywood area. Mr. Welsh was a recipient of the Governor's Award from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
